Meat Cutter (Full Time), Healthy Living Natural Market

Healthy Living Market is currently seeking an energetic individual interested in butchery, to assist their current staff as a Meat Cutter. The Meat Department is currently undergoing some exciting changes and this is a great time to join a well balanced team and to learn about local meats, whole animal butchery, charcuterie and fresh fish. Strong knife and wrapping skills are necessary; previous kitchen/butchering experience is preferred. Individuals should also have a proven ability to complete task lists in an efficient manner and to work independently. This position offers a stable, 40 hour/week schedule: Wednesday 10am – 6pm, Thursday 10am – 6pm, Friday 12pm – 8pm, Saturday 12pm – 8pm, and Sunday 10am – 6pm. The current GM will be moving into a Strategic Planning and Special Initiatives role, and the new GM will focus on day-to-day management of the business, overseeing the 11-person management team, and fostering the positive and productive culture for the 60+ people who work here. This person will get familiar with all aspects of High Mowing’s farm and operations and help guide High Mowing through our next phase of growth and development. Communications Internship, Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets

Vermont's Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets is seeking an unpaid intern to assist with marketing and communications. Duties will include content creation for the Agency's website and monthly newspaper, visiting local farms, responding to media inquiries, managing the Agency's social media presence, and assisting senior staff with speech writing/correspondence/presentations. The ideal candidate will be interested in the food system, and may be considering a future career in journalism, agricultural policy, PR, marketing, or government affairs. This is an un-paid internship. At the conclusion of this internship, the participant will have created a portfolio of content including published articles, blog posts, fact sheets, and speeches, and will have the opportunity to build a network of food system and state government contacts. Farm to School Coordinator, Green Mountain Farm to School

Green Mountain Farm-to-School (GMFTS) is a nonprofit organization promoting the health and wellbeing of Vermont's children, farms and communities by providing programs to connect schools and farms through food and education. In the 2013-2014 academic year, GMFTS aims to serve school communities in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont with school gardens, educational programming and fresh local farm foods, benefiting over 5,000 students. The primary responsibilities of the Farm-to-School Coordinator will be to develop, grow, present, and evaluate GMFTS’ Farm-to-School Programs and provide general operational and administrative support.
