Farm to Plate Investment Program - Contract Staff

The purpose of the farm-to-plate investment program, authorized by the Vermont Legislature in May 2009, is to foster economic development and job growth in the farm and food sector by providing coordination, technical advice, and financial support at all levels of the food system. The program is to be implemented by the Vermont Sustainable Jobs Fund (VSJF) through June 30, 2010 with the possibility of continuing past that date as funding allows. By developing a 10 year strategic plan for agriculture in Vermont, the overarching goals of this initiative are to increase economic development in Vermont’s food and farm sector, create jobs in the food and farm economy, and improve access to healthy local foods.
